Discovery Bay found in the parish of Saint Ann,was originally named Puerto Seco (“Dry Harbour”) by Christopher Columbus in 1494. In 1947 the town was renamed “Discovery Bay” to refer to the town’s history as it is believed that Christopher Columbus first set foot on Jamaican soil in this area.

Columbus Park is set on three acres of Discovery Bay, on the edge of the Caribbean sea, overlooking the never ending ocean and is an open-air historical and archaeological museum.
